by Thingz 2 Do In
Jaeger-LeCoultre, the high-end Swiss watchmaker founded in La Vallée de Joux in 1833, has long been one of our favorite brands. And while it’s best known for the iconic Reverso polo players watch which debuted in 1931 – the revolutionary case can be flipped over so that the watch’s face is protected during chukkas – the rest of its lineup, which contains some equally impressive models, tends to get short shrift. While it’s not a brand that is typically associated with celebrities, Jaeger-LeCoultre used this year’s Golden Globes ceremony to showcase some of those pieces on the wrists of some famous names. Spike Lee […]

Brokk demo robots with TEI rock drills designed to replace handheld tools in tight spaces

by Thingz 2 Do In
Brokk and TEI Rock Drills have teamed up to create a drill attachment for Brokk’s demolition robots to ease operator fatigue and bring heavy-duty power to cramped spaces that typically require handheld tools. The TE160 drill works with the Brokk 110 and Brokk 170 robots and is designed for concrete demolition, mining and tunneling applications. Brokk says the attachment eliminates the operator fatigue that comes from heavy handheld tools. It also improves drilling accuracy, and because operators can stand farther from the drill site, safety is improved as well, the company says. “With a Brokk machine and the TE160 attachment, they (operators) can consistently drill […]

Rolex launches Rolex.org to communicate its history and philanthropy

by Thingz 2 Do In
Rolex is notoriously a highly-secretive company, which is why it is notable and interesting that the company just launched Rolex.org, a new website to describe the company’s history and its philanthropic projects. When asked about Rolex, Paul Altieri, stated in the New York Times last year, “No one knows who runs it. I don’t think they started out purposefully being the Greta Garbo of the watch industry, but it works in their favor. If they can’t control it, they don’t want to be a part of it.” This website marks an interesting move for the company at a time when […]
