NETRMA plans 13 more miles of toll road in East Texas

The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (NETRMA) is planning to add an additional 13 miles of toll lanes to the Lindale Toll 49 toll road in East Texas after more than 930,000 vehicles have traveled it since its opening in November 2018, KLTV reports. Lane Construction to design, build section of Wekiva Parkway in Fla.

Lane Construction Co. will soon begin work on a $253 million design/build contract for one section of the $1.6 billion Wekiva Parkway toll road project in Seminole County, Florida, the Orlando Business Journal reports. Lane will be responsible for Section 8, which includes 2.63 miles from Orange Blvd. to east of Rinehart Rd., as well as the toll road’s interchange at Interstate 4 that will connect with State Road 417. DOTs use drones to inspect bridges with help from Intel

Intel announced that it is helping the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Minnesota Department of Transportation improve bridge inspections by using drones to supplement manual inspections of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky and the Stone Arch Bridge in Minnesota. ConstructionWorks to provide training, support and placement for road and construction workers in 6 Illinois counties

The new ConstructionWorks workforce training and careers program is ready to begin serving job seekers at 18 sites in Cook County, DuPage County, Chicago, Rockford, Aurora and Waukegan. Illinois Tollway Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom and Executive Director Liz Gorman announced the program earlier this month. Lane Construction sells off paving division, aggregates plants

Lane Construction Corp., of the Salini Impregilo Group, finalized the sale of 13 parcels, approximately 300 acres, of sand and gravel pits in West Northfield, Massachusetts, to Eurovia SAS for nearly $9.6 million as part of a $555 million sell off of its aggregates plants and paving division, the Greenfield Recorder reports. The sale was recorded at the Franklin County Register of Deeds on December 15. The sale includes more than 40 hot-mix asphalt facilities from the East coast to west Texas and several mining operations and other quarries in the Northeast. Washington state residents in the Medina, Clyde Hill, and surrounding neighborhoods are fed up with the grating “ka-think” noise they hear every time a vehicle drives over the metal expansion joints on the new $4.6 billion 520 corridor between Interstate 405 and Interstate 5, MYNorthwest reports.
